The 2024 Learn & Grow With Us Garden Tour is scheduled for 9 am – 4 pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024 and will include vegetable gardens in addition to traditional gardens. The Garden Tour features gardens designed, created and maintained by volunteers with the Master Gardener Volunteer Program.

Volunteers will be stationed throughout the gardens to highlight design features, unique plants and to answer questions. Education stations will be present at each location featuring research-based home horticulture information and resources on native plants, growing vegetables, watering wisely, and pruning shrubs and trees.

Garden Guidebook and favorite recipes

We have created a beginner’s guide to growing fruits and vegetables in home gardens, plus shared our favorite recipes using the produce we have grown. The book, “Garden to Table: Learn, Grow, Eat” features plant profiles on everything from asparagus to zucchini including:

  • when to plant seeds or seedlings
  • companion plants & crop rotation plans
  • how to ID common pests
  • common diseases for each plant type

This book will be on sale at our Garden Market for $30.

Tour proceeds will be used to support educational service activities in Washington County. Participants in the University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program share a mission to educate the public with research-based home horticulture information and inspire change to promote healthy people, healthy communities and a healthy planet.
